Life Insurance Policies
Term Life Insurance
Term Life Insurance has no cash value account. Death benefits will be paid only if you die within that term of years. Term insurance generally provides the largest immediate death protection for your premium dollar.
Term Life Insurance is death protection for a term of one or more years. Some companies are offering policies with terms up to thirty years. Premiums on term insurance remain level during the life of the policy.
Some Term Life Insurance policies are renewable for one or more additional terms even if your health has changed.
Some policies are also convertible. This means that before the end of the conversion period, you may trade the term policy for a whole life or endowment insurance policy even if you are not in good health.
Whole Life Insurance
Whole life insurance gives death protection for as long as you live and the most common type is called straight life insurance, for which you pay the same premiums for as long as you live.
Some whole life policies let you pay premiums for a shorter period such as 20 years, or until age 65. Premiums for these policies will be higher than ordinary life insurance.
A policy with cash values may also be used as collateral for a loan. If you borrow from the life insurance company, the rate of interest
is shown in your policy. Any money which you owe on a policy loan would be deducted from the benefits if you were to die, or from the cash value if you were to stop paying premiums.
Variable Life Insurance
Variable life insurance, provides permanent protection for you and death benefits to your beneficiary upon your death. Most variable life insurance policies guarantee that the death benefit will not fall below a specified minimum.
Variable is a form of whole life insurance and because of investment risks it is also considered a securities contract and is regulated as securities under the Federal Securities Laws and must be sold with a
prospectus.
Universal Life Insurance
Universal Life insurance is a variation of Whole Life.
-
The insurance part of the policy is separated from the investment portion of the policy.
-
The investment portion is invested in bonds and mortgages, the investment portion of Universal Life is invested in money market funds.
-
The cash value portion of the policy is set up as an accumulation fund.
-
Investment income is credited to the accumulation fund.
-
The death benefit portion is paid for out of the accumulation
fund.
Unlike Whole Life Insurance, the cash value of Universal Life Insurance grows at a variable rate. Normally, there is a guaranteed minimum interest rate applied to the policy. No matter how badly the
investments go by the insurance company, you are guaranteed a certain minimal return on the cash portion. If the insurance company does well with its investments, the interest return on the cash portion will
increase.
Variable-Universal Life
Variable universal life insurance pays your beneficiary a death benefit. The amount of the benefit is dependant on the success of your investments. If the investments fail, there is a guaranteed minimum
death benefit paid to your beneficiary upon your death.
Variable universal gives you more control of the cash value account portion of your policy than any other insurance type. A form of whole life insurance,
it has elements of both life insurance and a securities contract. Because the policy owner assumes investment risks, variable universal products are regulated as securities under the Federal Securities Laws
and must be sold with a prospectus.

Tips For Getting A Gorgeous Grin
Visit the Dentist. Schedule regular oral appointments every six months, or as recommended by a dental care professional. A good teeth cleaning and polishing not only keeps a smile free of serious conditions that can impact its appearance, but also removes stains for a whiter smile.
A dazzling smile and white teeth have become everyone's beauty must-have. In fact, an American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry survey revealed that 92 percent of respondents say that an attractive smile is an important social asset. "Almost all of my patients ask what they can do to achieve an eye-catching grin," says New York City celebrity Dentist Dr. Jennifer Salzer. I'm quick to remind them that obtaining a beautiful, healthy smile can be as simple as adopting small steps that can make a big difference." Dr. Salzer recommends the following:
Think two-in-one whitening. Use a toothbrush with a whitening property to achieve a luminous smile without adding an extra step to beauty routines. "I encourage my patients to use a brush that whitens while it cleans, providing two benefits in one step." Salzer recommends the new Crest SpinBrush Pro Whitening, a battery-powered brush with a dual-motion brush head of oscillating and back-and-forth shifting bristles. For less than $8, it removes up to 88 percent of surface stains, whitening teeth in just 14 days.
Achieve a 360 degree grin. A gorgeous smile doesn't stop at those pearly whites, so be sure to care for lips as well. Create an at-home smile spa treatment, exfoliating the lips with a homemade mixture of sugar and olive oil. Also, use lip moisturizers regularly.
Diminish discoloration at the source. Before gulping up chocolate, coffee, red wine and soda, consider the "white t-shirt rule"-anything that would stain a white t-shirt will also stain teeth. To minimize the discoloring effects of dark foods and beverages, swish water in the mouth between bites and brush as soon as possible after food consumption.
Carry a smile bag. Put together a mini-pouch - like a make-up bag - of quick fix items to carry for smile emergencies. Include lipsticks or glosses with blue undertones, which make teeth look whiter, some dental floss, toothpaste and a toothbrush. It's easy to prepare and great for traveling or a last minute date.
Remember that with daily care, achieving and maintaining a radiant and healthy smile that lasts a lifetime can be affordable and simple.
The white t-shirt rule-Anything that will stain a white t-shirt will stain your teeth.

Dentist Visit
We recently took our 5 1/2 year old daughter to the Dentist and when they called her name to go back we were told the Parents need to stay in the waiting room.
With hesitation we remained seated thinking our daughter would not go back without us but to our amazement she walked back with out saying anything.
She has never been afraid to go to the Dentist which makes us very happy and proud but that day we were very proud of her for going back without her mommy present.
We went and bought her a present when we left the Dentist Office that day. Just could not help ourselves.
First Dentist Checkup
A shy little 4-year-old came in to the dentist for his first cleaning and check-up. The hygienist tried to strike up a conversation but no response. After the cleaning, the dentist was called in to do the final check.
The dentist tried to strike up a conversation as well: "How old are you?" No response.
The dentist then asked: "Don't you know how old you are?" Immediately four tiny fingers went up.
"Oh," replied the
dentist, "and do you know how old that is?" Four little fingers went up once again.
Continuing the effort to get a response, the dentist asked: "Can you talk?"
The solemn little patient looked at him and asked: "Yes! And can you count?"

Test Yourself For Halitosis
Three simple methods to help you test yourself for bad breath / halitosis are as follows:
-
First take a piece of un-waxed, un-flavored white dental floss and floss between your upper and lower back molars. Examine the floss. Is it red or brown? Wait about 45 seconds and then smell it closely. Does it have a bad odor?
-
The next test is to take a clean washcloth and then pull your tongue forward with one hand grasping the tongue with the washcloth. With the other hand and a clean white washcloth rub or scrape the furthest back portion of your tongue two or three times. Again, wait for about 45 seconds and then smell the portion of the cloth that was rubbed on the tongue. Does it have a bad smell?
-
A third technique is to simply lick your tongue on your own clean wrist. Wait, then smell. This technique does not get back far enough on the tongue to be of best value but can be a quick test in a pinch for time.

Overcoming Fear of the Dentist
Eliminating phobias surrounding Dental Visits include disproving common myths such as:
Myth #1: X-rays are dangerous and the radiation can cause harm. Truth: The amount of radiation we’re exposed to on a typical day is equal to that found in a single dental film. X-rays are the only way to detect disease blow the gum line or inside a tooth.
Myth #2: The mouth has no relationship to the rest of the body’s health. Truth: The condition of your teeth can affect your overall systemic health.
Myth #3: Brushing, flossing and mouthwash will eliminate bad breath. Truth: These actions temporarily mask the smell, but are only eliminated when your teeth are professionally cleaned by a hygienist or Dentist.
Myth #4: Dentists do not need many credentials to practice. Truth: Licensing of Dentists is heavily regulated. Dentistry has become a full-fledged healthcare science that demands post-graduate certification training.
